We Make Your Home Dreams Come True

Home Addition Ideas and Remodels from Real Ohio Projects

Most of our projects start as somebody’s ordinary house. A family that has run out of room. A kitchen that worked fine in 1978. A house that fits the lot but not the life.

If you are gathering home addition ideas or planning a kitchen, what matters is not a rendering. It is work finished in houses like yours, in weather like yours, built to Ohio code. Browse the projects below, or read on for how each kind of job actually goes.

House Addition Ideas, by What the Family Needed

Additions are the largest share of our work, and they rarely start with a floor plan. They start with a problem — not enough living space, nowhere to put the laundry, a house that fits the lot but not the family. These are the ones we build most often.

Living Room and Family Room Additions

The most common request we get is simply more room to be together. A family room addition off the back of the house, or a living room that finally gives everyone somewhere to land, changes how a home functions more than any other single project.

The work is in the tie-in. An addition should read as part of the house from the curb, which means matching rooflines, siding and window proportions rather than bolting a box onto the back.

Master Suite and Bedroom Additions

Bedrooms are the addition that most changes what a house is worth, and the one families put off longest. They also rarely stay a single-room project — once the walls are open, the living space next door usually comes into the conversation.

Room addition ideas tend to multiply at exactly that point. We price the whole picture before framing starts so that does not become a surprise.

Mudroom and Laundry Room Additions

The smallest additions are the ones homeowners tell us changed daily life the most. A laundry room addition that brings the washer up out of the basement is a modest footprint with an outsized return.

It is often efficient to combine it with kitchen work, since the plumbing is already open and one round of inspections can cover both.

Home Office and Home Gym Additions

These are rooms that did not exist in Ohio floor plans a generation ago, and they are now among the most requested. Built as additions rather than conversions, they let a household gain a dedicated room without giving up a bedroom to get it.

A home office addition is also the one most likely to need its own electrical planning. That is a rough-in decision rather than a finish decision, so it has to be made early.

Home Addition Floor Plans

Every addition we build begins on paper, and the plan is the part of the process worth understanding before you hire anyone.

A home addition floor plan settles the layout, the structural tie-in, and the decisions that determine what the project costs. If you are early on and trying to understand how a plan becomes a framed structure, that drawing tells you more about the job than the finished room ever will.

That is where the expensive decisions live: what the existing structure can carry, where the plumbing has to run, and what has to move before anything can be framed. By the time the room is finished, none of it is visible.

Kitchen Remodels

Kitchens are the room people live in and the room they judge a house by. We build kitchens at every scale — full custom cabinetry and stone, straightforward cabinet-and-counter refreshes, and kitchens added to older homes as part of a larger renovation.

What These Projects Cost

This is the question everyone arrives with and almost no contractor answers up front. Costs vary with size, sitework, and finish level, but the ranges are knowable, and we publish ours rather than making you call to find out.

Where We Build

We are based in Sugarcreek and build within about a two-hour drive — Holmes and Tuscarawas Counties first, then Canton, Wooster, Akron, Cleveland, and the Columbus area.

Start With a Conversation, Not a Contract

If something on this page looks like the house you are trying to fix, tell us what is not working. We will walk the space, talk through what is realistic, and give you a number before you commit to anything.
